The company gratefully acknowledges the certified prosthetists and patients who have worn the PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot system during prelaunch patient trials. Their feedback was instrumental in helping finalize critical design elements which led to the official release of the PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot system on October 1, 2006.

The PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot system is the first prosthetic foot designed to replicate the structure and biomechanics of the normal foot, ankle and calf shank. Three innovative components — the carbon graphite foot keel, ankle coupler and titanium calf shank — work synergistically to mechanically accept the downward force that occurs when the heel meets the ground and transfer these forces into forward motion.

Patients who are fit with a PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot system should realize improved propulsion power, increased gait velocity, and enhanced balance. They will walk more naturally with less effort.

Jacquelyn Perry, M.D., a physician recognized as one of the world’s leading experts on human gait, had this to say about the PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot systemfoot system: "Your prosthetic foot is very impressive. You have made a real breakthrough, which in the long run will probably revolutionize prosthetic design."

BioQuest Prosthetics was founded by Barry Townsend, CPO and his design partner Byron Claudino to advance the mobility and quality of life for lower limb amputees. Building on their 40+ years of collective experience working with amputees and existing prosthetic technology, they have worked for more than five years to turn their biomechanical concepts into a mechanical form they hope will benefit amputees around the world.

The company’s first product, the PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot system, has undergone extensive performance testing in leading gait labs (Stanford & USC) and has included functional comparisons to several of the most widely utilized prosthetic feet. The test data indicates the PerfectStride IITM prosthetic foot system outperforms all existing prosthetic foot designs in terms of innovative functionality, energy storage and release, forward propulsion and the achievement of near human gait.
