Barry Townsend, CPO, and Byron Claudino share a simple vision: To advance human ambulation through the creation of higher functioning lower extremity prosthetic systems.

Through the ownership and operation of a multi-site O&P business, Barry and Byron have nearly 40 years of combined professional experience treating lower limb amputees. Understanding the needs of patients and providers, and armed with a host of ideas for how to overcome the limitations of existing technology, they formed BioQuest Prosthetics -- and began their quest to improve the quality of life for amputees around the world.

Over the past five years Barry and Byron have worked to transform their design concepts into marketable products. At considerable expense, they have protected BioQuest’s intellectual property with nearly 100 patents and patents-pending. While the PerfectStride II is the company’s cornerstone product, multiple products are in various stages of development and testing.

Product design and assembly is performed in Bakersfield, CA. Sales and marketing is coordinated through a strategic affiliation with Townsend Design, a leading manufacturer of orthopedic braces and supports.
